Manteca Restaurant

Client: Manteca

Category: Brand Identity, Design for Print

Manteca is a nose-to-tail Italian-inspired restaurant offering customers a luxury dining experience with their whole-animal butchery, hand-rolled pastas and wood-fired breads. After opening the doors to their first permanent premises in 2020 the team behind Manteca approached United Creatives for a new brand identity and signage suite that celebrates the craft of fine dining.

Part of the project saw us working with the the Urban Crafts Foundation to create a set of signage for the restaurant. We supplied designs for a hand-written logotype and supporting letterforms which were reproduced in brass by an expert blacksmith. Inspiration for the signage came from from the metal rebar sigs which adorn cafes and restaurants across the continent.

The brand identity is built around a hand-written logotype that visually communicates the elegance contemporary fine dining offers to its customers. Supporting assets include a snout icon and a series of food and drink menus.

The brand language was extended throughout the restaurant with a number of printed deliverables including menus and drinks coasters. We helped capture the art of fine dining with a decorative menu cover created using high resolution scans of the cured meats and salumeria offered at the restaurant.
