Bricks of Colour

Client:
Barrow Borough Council
Category:
Public Art / Wall Mural / Installation

Working with the local council, community groups and landscape architect Capita Symonds we designed, fabricated and installed a full colour large format vitreous enamel steel artwork into a busy pedestrian alleyway in Barrow town centre.

The installation comments on the former brick-lined ginnel and seeks to inject colour into what was previously an unwelcoming space. The hidden image is stretched with square pixels forming bricks that when viewed from the angle of approach and from a distance reveals a local landscape.

To deliver our vision for the project we worked with skilled artisans to create a totally new approach to producing full colour kiln-fired vitreous enamel steel.
